Glass Windows of the Grossmunster
The Grossmunster located in Zurich Switzerland is a cathedral built by Protestants. Construction was finished in 1220 AD though it's wondrous stained glass where not added until 1932. Designed and constructed by Swiss artist, Augusto Giocometti, this work of art doesn't actually utilize glass. Instead these windows were cut from very thin agate. As recently as 2009 even more stained glass has been added to the old cathedral.
Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum
The Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Justice Illinois houses some of the worlds most luxurious and beautiful stained glass. This structure holds the world record for the largest signle stained glass installation. This gargantuan structure includes over 22,000 feet of stained glass made up of well over 2400 separate panels of glass.
The Skylight at the Palau de la Música Catalana
Located in Barcelona Spain The Skylight at the Palau de la Música Catalana is an awesome sight to behold. This breathtaking structure is a 3 dimensional work of art that symbolizes both the sun as well as the sky. The main stained glass is accentuated by additional stained glass built into arches which sit at each end of this glorious concert hall. The main structure drops from the ceiling in an inverted bell shape while the remainder boasts sharp golds and blues.
